Célia Boyer
Executive Director
Celia picture Serving since the inception of HON, Célia Boyer, along with the support of the Council of the Foundation, continues to carry out the work initiated by the late founder, Professor Scherrer, and his co-founders.

Célia Boyer is recognized as an expert in quality assessment of medical information on the Internet and has taken part in several projects and conferences, both European and international.

Célia was the Scientific and Administrative Coordinator for the two-year project of the European Union WRAPIN (World Reliable Online Advice for Patients and Individuals).
She has authored more than 50 original scientific publications in peer-reviewed scientific journals including “Consumer Informatics: Applications and Strategies for Cyber Health Care” which was awarded the Book of the Year award in 2006 by HIMSS (Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society) and contributed to the special edition of IJMI (International Newspaper of Medical Informatics).
Her research focuses, at the international level, on the automation of quality detection of health websites, improvement of information search systems for better adaptation to the needs of the public, both patients and health professionals and the social and cultural determinants on the confidence of online health information according to geographic area.
At the national level, she is involved in the development of services and tools to meet the local needs which include Provisu.ch and Santeromande.ch.
Further involvements are detection of the accessibility and comprehension (level of complexity) of online health information.
Célia has a degree in Science and Applied Physics from the University of Luminy of Marseilles, France and an engineering degree from the Federal Polytechnic School of Lausanne, Switzerland.

Vincent Baujard
Web Developer
Vincent picture
Vincent is the Senior Web Programmer and the head of the Development Team at HON. He has directed web development carried out at the Foundation for over ten years, and along with the team of the Department of Imagery of the Cantonal Hospital of Geneva, was one of the originators of robot MARVIN, which is to this day used by the Foundation.
Vincent is also responsible for the development of the expert system of the www.stop-tabac.ch site of the Institute of Preventive and Social Medicine of Geneva.

Elena Reale
Quality Assuror for Online Health Information
Elena is in charge of the quality system of the Certification activity. Prior to joining HON, she was in charge of Quality Assurance for food products at Wal-Mart Global Procurement.
Her expertise on the subject is a great asset to HON.
Elena has a Master’s degree in Chemistry from the University of Florence.

William Belle
Junior Developer
William picture
William is a Junior Web Developer working on the various project at HON, and especially on SCAHT and Santéromande web services. In the past, he has been involved in the IT department and hydraulic equipment projects of the Services Industriels de Genève. He has a degree in Computer Engineering from the Ecole d’Ingénieur de Genève.

Konstantina Kalogianni
Intern
Konstantina is a master's student of Medical Informatics at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki in Greece. She has worked as an informatics tutor in the Faculty of Medicine at the Aristotle University and a vocational institute in Greece. She has also worked as a telesales representative for a Greek organisation of telecommunications and as a researcher at the University of Copenhagen, Denmark, in the fields of Neuroscience and Biomedical Signal Processing.
Konstantina joined HON as an intern working on testing and improving health websites.

Erik Montesinos, MD
Research Assistant of Online Health Information
Erik obtained his degree in Medicine from the Medical School of the University of Valencia. He has completed a five year specialty program in Orthopedic Surgery in La Fe Teaching Hospital and is currently working at the Hospital Arnau de Vilanova in Valencia, Spain.
Erik has also completed a Medical Management Executive MBA in the National School of Health, and works on the certification process of medical websites and on the promotion of HON in Spain.

André Ferreira-da-Silva

Andre picture
André has a Degree in Biology from the University of Coimbra, Portugal. He is a PhD student at the Medical Faculty of the University of Porto and the Medical University of Geneva. He works as a researcher at Institute of Pathology and Immunology at University of Porto - IPATIMUP.

Alejandro Vargas, MD

Alejandro picture
Alejandro obtained his degree in Medicine from the Medical school of the University of La Paz, Bolivia. With a scholarship holder of the Swiss Confederation, Alejandro obtained in 2009 a degree in Medical Informatics from the University of Geneva. Currently, he is in the second year of Medical Informatics - MAS (Master of Advanced Studies) at the University of Geneva; he works as a research assistant on TALISMAN project at the Service of Medical Informatics (SIM) of University Hospital of Geneva and on the certification process of medical websites at HON.

Natalia Pletneva
Research Assistant of Online Health Information
Natalia picture
Natalia has degrees in Pharmacy and Journalism from Nizhny Novgorod, Russia. After working for a year as a healthcare journalist she did a Masters in Sustainable Regional Health Systems in Spain, Italy and Hungary. In her studies, Natalia researched chronic patients online communities in the Basque Country, Spain. Since then, Web 2.0 applications in healthcare have become one of her core interests.
At HON, Natalia is involved in website certification and research.

Mikhail Mizin

After graduating from Translation and Interpretation at the Linguistic University of Moscow, Mikhail received his license at the Institute of International Relations and Development at the University of Geneva (International Law).

Iris van der Heijden
Research Assistant of Online Health Information, Legal Adviser
Iris finished a Bachelor's degree at the European Law School and a Master's of Globalization and Law at the University of Maastricht, the Netherlands. Furthermore, she has finished a Master's of Advanced Studies in International Humanitarian Law and Human Rights at the Geneva Academy.

Ilia Siatitsa
Research Assistant of Online Health Information
Ilia is a Member of the Athens Bar Association. She has a law degree and a Master's in Public International Law (University of Athens, Greece). Recently, she finished a Master's of Advanced Studies in Humanitarian Law (Geneva Academy of International Humanitarian Law and Human Rights).


Lauriane Dudler
Research Assistant of Online Health Information
Lauriane holds a Master's in Sciences regrouping Mathematics and Biology from the University of Geneva.


HON Afrique (Bamako, Mali)img

Operating from Bamako, Mali, Team HON Afrique is promoting the transparency and trustworthiness of online health information in French-speaking African countries.
Cheikh Oumar Bagayoko, MD
Research Assistant of Online Health Information for HON Afrique
Dr Bagayoko is the head of the EQUI project in Mali and the representative of HON in the French-speaking Africa. He specializes in biomedical and health informatics (Phd in Health Informatics).

Seidou Tidiane Traoré, MD
Research Assistant of Online Health Information for HON Afrique
Seidou graduated from the University of Mali and is also one of the members of REIMICOM.
He is involved in the process of certification of medical sites of HON Africa.

Helinä Kalalahti
Communications
Helinä has studied communications at the University of Helsinki, Finland, and has been interested in health related communications for years. Her Master’s thesis, “Adolescents and Sexual Education on the Internet”, combines the two aspects that define HON: health information and the net. At HON, Helinä will be using her knowledge of communications and PR to raise people’s awareness of HON and its mission.
